Officer of 44 AK Regiment Dies After Alleged Suicide Attempt at CMH Multan

Multan, July 16, 2025 – Captain Burhan (PA 62086), a 25-year-old officer from the 44 AK Regiment, serving in the 26 Mechanised Division, has passed away at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Multan on 14 July 2025. He had been under treatment after an alleged suicide attempt earlier this month.

According to reports, Capt. Burhan was found unconscious in his residence at Bahawalpur Cantonment on July 4 and was immediately shifted to CMH Bahawalpur. On July 11, he was transferred to CMH Multan for further medical care. Unfortunately, despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on July 13 2025.

Initial investigations suggest that the officer attempted suicide by hanging himself from a fan in his house. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

The Pakistan Army has not yet released an official statement, but the news has been confirmed by sources in the Pakistan Army. Further details will be shared as the inquiry progresses.

Capt. Burhan had served in the military for four and a half years. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through his unit and colleagues, and course mates.
